The Many Benefits of Re-refined Oil
Re-refining is an energy-efficient and environmentally beneficial method of managing used oil. Re-refined oil takes about one-third the energy of refining crude oil.
Re-refining extends the life of a nonrenewable resource by using it over and over again. And, re-refining removes a household hazardous waste from our environment.
It only takes one gallon of used oil to make 2.5 quarts of re-refined oil. In contrast, it takes 42 gallons of crude oil to make 2.5 quarts of virgin oil.
When you use re-refined oil in your fleet, you help:
- reduce our dependence on foreign oil
- reduce the depletion of natural resources and
- create domestic "green jobs"
